It only takes a minute to sign up. Is there a book or online resource that I can look at that has travel times between the various locations. For example, I have characters traveling from Waterdeep to Yartar. I know that travel times depend on the mode of transportation.
Something with the distances is fine. I can extrapolate time from the distance based on walking, riding, etc. I also know that the big maps have legends that can be used to get distance information. First, I don't have those maps. I have a bunch of map images on my computer. Many of them chopped into smaller regional maps. Second, a chart of the distances is easier and faster than measuring all the time.
I know it isn't the first answer you're looking for, but this link is a free huge hi-res map of the Sword Coast direct from WotC with a map scale. It looks like it would be pretty easy to figure out the distances on that map, using that scale. For example, I figure the journey from Waterdeep to Triboar, based on this map, is about miles. LegendaryDude LegendaryDude Therefor I won't add more link, but know that google is your friend. It isn't exactly what I'm looking for but I'm upvoting you because it is useful. I even found a Windows program that took distance and terrain and transport type and calculated travel times. I didn't find what I was looking for.
It might not exist but I figured I'd ask. I might have to make what I'm looking for. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. Same goes for the Bryn Shander one. Just ran this tonight and wanted to say my group and I had a blast.
I was expecting to get through the pre-attack quests and the attack in a 5 hour session, but after 5 hours of playing we just got to the attack before we had to call it. My players were having so much fun investigating the murder of Mirak and the robbery of The Lion's Share. He failed his move silent check and Tolmara heard it and she started going to investigate at which point the ranger just knocked her out in front of a couple of villagers which led to a hilarious conversation between the the Sorc and the Villagers trying to convince them she was a murderer. When he failed his persuasion check he decided to bail and just jumped out of a window and began running into the Forrest. This was happening all while the Warlock was fighting the skeleton solo See more upstairs.

The guides all carry rings of teleportation or a similar device in earring or belt form in order to make a quick getaway in the case of treachery, something they are all extremely wary of, and might even refuse getting into situations where this might be a possibility. A lot of the guides are ex-adventurers. To avoid angering Gwaeron, laws in Triboar forbid cutting any trees, and hunting in the woods.
Rivalry with Yartar: Although the rivalry between Triboar and the neighboring Yartar is usually friendly, there have been occasions when it has erupted into violence over a particular incident. Hundreds of years ago, the old Phandalin was a thriving human town whose people were firmly allied with the dwarves and gnomes of the Phandelver's Pact. However, the same orc horde that sacked the mines at Wave Echo Cave laid waste to the settlement, and Phandalin was abandoned for centuries.
In the last three or four years, hardy settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have begun the hard work of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin.Avana westchase
A bustling frontier settlement has grown up on the site of the old town, and is how now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. Unfortunately, more than a few bandits and brigands have settled here as well, taking advantage of the fact that the area has no local lord or authority to chase them off. A gang known as the Redbrands has controlled Phandalin for the past two months, extorting and bullying everyone in town.

Daran Edermath, a retired adventurer who now owns an orchard, has heard stories from prospectors in the hills northeast of Phandalin that someone is digging around in the ruins known as Old Owl Well. More disturbingly, several prospectors have reported being chased from the area by undead.
He asks that you visit the ruins, a couple days march, and find out who's there and what they're up to. Daran is concerned that some latent magic from the ancient empire of Netheril may be at play. SKT, however, has a bunch of maps by some other people, including Jason Engle, who does not sell digital versions of his maps. When I spoke to Chris Perkins about this recently, he basically said that if you want all of SKT's maps, you have to go through roll20 or Fantasy Grounds. Does anyone know if you can extract image files from either of those programs? Can I download the maps from them in order to print them out to use at the table?
Or would I be forced to display them on-screen in the program itself? If it's the latter, then I would be rather disappointed, as I have no real need to use those programs. I just want copies of the maps I can print off to use at the table. Thanks, Jonathan. Is the main region map available at least?

I wonder if he'd consider the idea of selling digital copies. Motorskills Explorer. I've emailed him but haven't heard back. I seem to recall someone else saying that they'd talked to him and that he had no plans to sell them, though. I know, right?! You can purchase Schley's contributions, Bryn Shander and the Dripping Caves which has actually been reused from a 4e productas well as Blando's Uthgardt burial mound maps and the Harper teleportation network illustration.
I noticed that they seem to have re-used a lot of things, as well as relying on telling people to reference the DMG for a lot of stuff which I don't recall being done in other campaign books.
